The Cleveland Indians will look to close out the short three game series against the Detroit Tigers today before hosting the New York Yankees for a four game series that kicks off tomorrow evening.
In the first two games against the Tigers, the Indians worked hard earning two victories with a combined score of 17-4 and was their 11th straight victory over the Tigers.
“Other than the fact that they’ve beaten us 11 straight games, there’s nothing baffling. They’ve outplayed us,” Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. “There’s nothing baffling about that. It’s not like we haven’t played good baseball. They’ve just played better. Tonight, they pitched better, they hit better. It’s simple.”
Tickets for the up coming series against the Yankees are still available. Starting for the Indians will be Trevor Bauer (7-2, 3.02 ERA) who will go up against Ivan Nova (5-5, 5.06 ERA). Bauer missed his last start and is coming off a 3-0 June record. Nova’s ERA has jumped to 6.92 over his last seven starts.
