Clevinger gets the start

The Cleveland Indians (79-57, 1st AL Central) used eight pitchers in a 6-2 loss to the Houston Astros (73-64, 2nd AL West) last night.  Without a clear cut fifth starter, the Indians went with all eight pitchers in the loss.  The Detroit Tigers moved to within 4.5 games of the division leading Indians while the Astros win keeps them two games back of the second AL Wild Card spot.

Indians 3“It’s a big win for us to come into this place and beat a first-place team, so regardless of how they lined their pitching up, you’ve got to win as many games as you can,” Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. “That was the lovable September marathon that we all enjoy. Better to be on the winning side than the losing side, but that one seemed like it was never going to end.”

The second of four games commences tonight at 6:10 at Progressive Field.  Corey Kluber (15-8, 3.09 ERA) will get the start for the Tribe while the Astros will send out Brad Peacock (0-0, 3.86 ERA) to start the game.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on your Cleveland Indians!
